Some of you may wonder what the story is behind the “rock” that sits at the corner of Rt. 51 and Darlington Rd. Back in 1965, the Chippewa Township Road crew found it as they were widening McDevitt Road. The Chippewa Township Supervisors hired Ralph Reed Excavating to extract it. Then, Moody Brothers from New Castle brought it to the “point” where it welcomes passers-by to the Township.
