Blackhawk’s own Mr. Ryan D. Hardesty was awarded the Pennsylvania 2023 Teacher of the Year Award. Mr. Hardesty teachers seventh and eighth grade social studies at Highland Middle School. Mr. Hardesty represented Blackhawk at the national teacher leadership conference in Louisville, KY this summer presented by the National Network of State Teachers of the Year. He was joined by teachers of the year and finalists from Pennsylvania and across the country. Additionally, Mr. Hardesty was recognized on the field at the Pitt game in September as part of their Extra Yard for Teachers initiative! Mr. Hardesty earned his bachelor’s degree in history and political science and his master’s degree in teaching from the University of Pittsburgh and was in the Pitt Band. Way to go, Mr. Hardesty!
