2022 — A Year in Review!
2022 was a great year for Chippewa Township Parks & Recreation. We kept up with our regularly scheduled events including our Easter Egg Hunt, Community Day and Kids Octoberfest. We had some wonderful summer concerts and movie nights under the stars. New this year we added summer camps for kids which were a hit, and we can’t wait to expand the program for kids in 2023. Our Retired Citizens have enjoyed our monthly meetings and visits to local attractions, and we hope to grow these monthly meetings even more next year too. We cohosted a successful McKinley School House Chili Sale in partnership with our historical group in the township and are looking forward to making this an annual fundraising event for much needed repairs and maintenance on the schoolhouse.
We opened our brand-new Fitness Court at Wright Fields and plan to add regularly scheduled fitness classes and programs using the court in the Spring of 2023. Benches were added around fields 2 and 3 at Wright Fields and we plan to expand that next year to around the park as a whole to include additional seating and some picnic options.
If you are interested in getting involved in our Recreation Board, please visit our website for the schedule of our monthly Recreation Board meetings. These are open to the public and we are always looking for ideas for the parks, events, and volunteers
