COPS CORNER
The Chippewa Police Department continues to proudly serve and protect the community. The department recently promoted three officers to the rank of Corporal. These promotions will afford more supervision and oversight within the police department. Officers Eli Nye, Jacob Delmonico, and Royce Deyber were promoted with an effective date of September 2022. To further enhance our efforts and capabilities with providing Professional, Proactive, and Progressive Policing, an additional full-time officer was hired. Along with these internal upgrades, we remain training-centric—our department personnel are some of the highest trained police officers in the area. We continually train and build relationships with federal, state, county, and local agencies so that we are prepared, but prevention is still our goal.
Some of the recent trainings our department personnel attended/participated in:
- Threat Analysis / Active Shooter / Terrorist Trends and Tactics – Presented by U.S. Secret Service
- MILO (Multiple Interactive Learning Objectives) Simulator Use of Force – Community College Criminal Justice
- Active Shooter Response Symposium – Presented by Beaver County District Attorney
- Drug Interdiction
- Non-lethal Use of Force
- Medical Marijuana Training – Hosted by Chippewa PD / Presented by the Pennsylvania DUI Association
- Active Assault / School Bus Takeover Training – Hosted and Presented by Chippewa Police / New Sewickley Police / Command Excellence
- We work and train with other police agencies along with school administration, businesses and organizations to provide a collaborated safety effort. We also endeavor to utilize and incorporate drug addiction and mental health resources to aid in the performance of our duties.
