Through our recycling program, Chippewa Township offers a free curbside brush pickup program for 3,000 households. Over the years this program gained popularity and has grown exponentially. From 2013 (306) to 2018 (503) the number of calls increased over 60%. Last year, we serviced 302 households and with in that number 114 residents called multiple times with the highest household reaching 12 requests.
We are conducting a feasibility study for 2019. One conclusion of this study is available manpower to pick up brush. We have six full time road employees that a vast majority of their work starts in the Spring. We will have our seasonal/part-time employees secured in May and early June and at that time we will be fully staffed to handle the brush pick up. We will continue to monitor this study in hopes not to impose a pickup fee for future years to come.
The 2019 program will start April 1st and end September 27th. Our employees will strive our best to expedite your pick-up requests in a timely manner. Listed below are other options to dispose of your brush.

If you need to schedule a pickup please contact our road department 724-847-0694. You will need to leave your full name, address and phone number. Failure to do so can result in delays of your service. We appreciate all of your patience in this new change as we try to overcome these obstacles.
