At Patterson Primary, the school year has been off to a busy start.  Our staff and students have participated in a variety of #ppschooseskindness campaign projects in the classroom, building, and in conjunction with the community.  Our year began with a kick off program involving the Blackhawk High School marching band and cheerleaders.  Students completed an activity in their classroom to highlight our theme for the year, “You have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.”  The band and cheerleaders then performed for the students and staff.

In the classroom, we are recognizing our Patterson Police Pals. This is a new program started this year in conjunction with the Patterson Police Department.  The department wishes to recognize students who are exemplary citizens in the classroom.  Patterson Police Pals will be identified and recognized quarterly.

Students have been learning about Veterans Day and the significance to our country and community.  We have recognized family members and staff members who have served or currently serve in our armed forces.  2nd grade students have created a Wall of Recognition in our main hallway to show our patriotism and appreciation.

Serving as role models and reading buddies, Second grade students are working with Kindergarten students to enhance their reading and listening skills.  This experience has served as a lesson in role modeling and collaboration skills for both grades.  Students are very excited about this opportunity to share their knowledge and work with the Kindergarten students.
