Get Started at the Chippewa Library! Spend some time this spring catching up on your reading list, researching your family history, grabbing a “how-to” gardening book or having a seat in one of our booths and getting cozy while you read the newspaper here at the Chippewa Library.

MORE THAN BOOKS

Visit us to check your email, borrow a DVD, book on CD or your favorite magazine. E-books and audiobooks are available from our web site. Keep reading for more information about our programs and resources!

FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS

Help instill a love of reading and learning in your preschoolers by attending our Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning Story Times. Young readers can visit and read to our therapy dog Tucker. Little ones can join their friends at the train table for Preschool Play Group every Tuesday or sign up for “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” to keep track of their reading. Remember to sign up for our special upcoming events like Dr. Seuss’ Birthday Party and One Book Story Time! Summer is also a great time to visit the library for special programs. Students can benefit from our online encyclopedias, prepare for the SAT, and much more. Use our website resources here in the library or in the comfort of your own home!

FOR ADULTS

Adults benefit from special programs and events, including Book Club, at the library. Our web site provides links to our special databases and resources that are free to you with your library card! Use them in the library or at home. Prepare for a GED or nursing exam with Learning Express. Take a computer or self-help class with Universal Class. Search academic full-text articles with Power Library.

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY

“Friends of the Library” is a non-profit group that promotes literacy in our community while supporting the library with funding. Help yourself to a cup of Keurig-brewed coffee or a chocolate bar. Put their biannual book sale on your calendar in April and October. All proceeds support library programs and services!

Please give us a call if you have any questions or to sign up for our free programs. The staff is happy to assist you in finding the information and resources you want and need.

Stay up to date with all the library’s programs and events by visiting us, liking our Facebook page, following us on Twitter or visiting our web site.
